Established in 2011, the Haven Project supports parents in public care proceedings in Liverpool. We provide support to any parent, single mothers, fathers and couples during the 26 weeks of court proceedings. We also offer a further 12 months support to parents in circumstances where children don’t return home following the final hearing.
In many cases parents go through the stressful court process with only their solicitor for support. Such limited support can have a serious effect on how parents cope with the process and on their ability to be involved in the decisions being made about their children. As a Christian organisation, we believe our role is to be with parents through this difficult process and beyond, particularly in circumstances where children don’t return home. By building a relationship with parents and offering practical, emotional and spiritual support we aim to:
- Reduce their isolation
- Enable them to participate fully in the legal proceedings
- Promote positive and lasting change in their own lives
- Reduce the risk of them having any future children removed from their care
We accept referrals from solicitors, social workers and self referrals from parents. To enquire about making a referral or to find out more about our services please Contact us.
